Northern Irish beef in 'Best Beer and Burger Kit' from Morrisons

Mini burgers developed by Linden Foods in Northern Ireland feature in the new 'Best Beer and Burger Kit' launched by top UK supermarket chain Morrisons especially for the party season.

The 740g pack, which won acclaim in last month's The Grocer Q Awards, contains 10 mini beef burgers, topped with Cheddar cheese melt, in traditional brioche buns, served alongside shots of Yorkshire's Black Sheep Ale. The packs retail at £6.

In Morrisons stores in Scotland, the pack features Irn-Bru. The product, which can be ordered on-line, is included in the supermarket's 'The Best' category. Black Sheep Ale is Yorkshire's best-known craft beer brewer.

Based at Dungannon in county Tyrone, Linden Foods is one of Northern Ireland's biggest and most successful processors of meat, poultry and pork.

The Northern Irish company, part of a joint venture initiative involving ABP Food Group, announced earlier in the year, launched a 20 strong portfolio of premium burgers exclusively from meat sourced from its long-established network of predominantly grass-fed herds in Ireland.

Linden is committed to the best grass fed meat possible, '100% honest Irish meat', whether that be salt moss dry aged beef, Hereford or Aberdeen Angus, all DNA traceable. All the company's burgers are gluten free with no compromise on quality.

The company also launched luxury burgers under its Turf & Clover aimed at markets outside Northern Ireland.

The Turf & Clover range features a wide variety of premium meats - grass-fed beef, chicken, pork, lamb and venison from breeds such as Angus, Hereford, yearling and wagyu. Cuts used include brisket, chuck, cheek, rib or flank in styles such as dry-aged, marrow melt, quarter pounder and sliders. The company has created burgers with flavour-filled recipe flavours including Louisiana, Iberian and Tennessee.

Linden Foods is part of Fane Valley Group, Northern Ireland's largest farmers' co-operative. The company employs around 800 people at its modern processing operation in Dungannon.
