New high protein porridge from Northern Ireland’s That Protein

That Protein, the multi-award winning innovator and producer of plant-based superfood powders, has launched a new organic porridge.

The innovative Blissful Double Choc Protein Porridge is the latest in a series of plant-based protein products developed by Belfast-based That Protein, a small business which has won Nourish Awards for the quality and innovation of its superfoods.

The protein porridge, according to Darlene McCormick, That Protein’s founder and managing director, is suitable for vegans, is totally plant-based, high in plant protein, fibre and energising B vitamin. Ms McCormick is also a qualified clinical nutritionist.

The main ingredients are organic oats, plant protein, raw cacao, cacao nibs and Palmyra nectar, which is dried sap from the Asian Palmyra Tree.

“The new protein porridge is a great way to start the day. It’s a healthy product that can also be used in smoothies and for creative baking,” says Ms McCormick.

That Protein won a Nourish UK award for the third successive year last year. The small company won awards for separate products in 2018 and 2019 in what is regarded as one of the world’s most important awards for healthy foods. The company, in addition, has gained influential Fodmap accreditation for one of its products.

That Protein, which was established in 2014, is based on Ms McCormick’s long-time dedication to a vegetarian diet and her training as a clinical nutritionist.  All the original products in its expanding portfolio have been developed by Ms McCormick.
